The Speechling Method

With a foundation in our mission, the Speechling Method uses a combination of technology and human coaching to help our students learn new languages.

We place an emphasis on speaking, because of the lack of free and affordable tools for helping people speak. By breaking down spoken language barriers, we hope to increase access to education, employment opportunities, and a better quality of life.

Personal Feedback

As a personal tutoring service, our certified pronunciation coaches give feedback on your speaking within 24 hours. Advanced students can answer a question or describe an image, and we will give feedback similar to what a private tutor will provide.

The app on iOS is free, which is consistent with our nonprofit mission. 6 08/16/2019 Added badges and medals, runs faster, and no longer requires login for most features such as dictation, listening comprehension, flashcards, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple choice for Spanish, English, French, German and Russian. 5 12/27/2018 Amazing new features! We added a "understand" module for listening comprehension, built a comprehensive user guide, and have offline downloadable content. You can also earn badges for completing units in our skill tree. 4 11/27/2018 Lot’s of new updates! We tripled our curriculum to over 10k total sentences, added a dashboard, offline resources, listening comprehension mode, freestyle mode, and many more new features. 3 08/29/2018 Lots of new updates!
